Incredibly funny and informative – good ideas to get a person started. Am curious to know what was used AND how the soundtrack (sound effects) was(were) implemented into the shows he presented. Well worth having for anyone wanting to be a children’s entertainer!

Hi Jill, There are several systems being used for live music and sound effects, some simultaneously.
The oldest system in use on the video was actually a Mararntz cassette unit with a footswitch remote control (hard wired). Footswitch control is essential for me as you can observe many times I’ve got both hands occupied and still music and F/Xs are happening on cue. (I’m experimenting with digital sources with footswitch options)
Another sound source is something Jim Kleefeld sold called Sound Control. It’s a small remote fob that controls an Ipod. It can advance or step back within an Ipod Playlist as well as execute volume adjustments, all from my pocket. I’ve now replaced that controller with an IJet remote that performs the same functions. I can now use two of these at once with a controller in each pocket, giving me two tracks of audio that are separately controlled.
On the Running Gag segment of the DVD there’s a cell phone routine. The phone rings are all being triggered from the unit in my pocket (if you watch closely you can see me setting it off).

Hope this is helpful and thanks for buying LET’S GET VISUAL… there’s more on the way.

Thanks for the information Steve. Will look into those footswitch control options, definitely and purchase whatever DVDs you come out with next. LOVE the octopus (“Helloooo, Baby!”), Clint Eatswood, and T-Bag! Hope the shows I come up with will be as creative as yours.
Do you write your own songs, too? Thanks again!
