DinoStar or Dragon Puppet by Axtell

Dusty Dragon Puppet
DinoStar Puppet
BODY FACTS - Did you know, the DinoStar and Dusty Dragon share the same body? If you use them in the same show, they can be sister and brother dragons, or brothers, or father & son!

You can make their arms wiggle and wave, just by sqeezing the armpit area with your free hand. It can look like you are tickling him! Very cool. Watch the Dino video clip here to see this.

Dragon Routine ideas from Customers like You!

Name: Steve Axtell
Idea: Use Dusty as an EX-SMOKER. Cough Cough....I used to smoke...gasp!

Robert and Kimberly Sanders
Here's our idea: After placing suitable "ingredients" into a cupcake-sized dove pan, the puppet will blow smoke at it, thereby apparently cooking the ingredients. Upon lifting the lid, a cupcake for the birthday boy/girl will be revealed.

Steve Radley
I WOULD TELL THE KIDS THAT HE IS A FRIENDLY DRAGON AND IF YOU RUB HIS BELLY OR TICKLE HIM HE WILL BLOW SMOKE!

Robert and Kim Sanders
I will use the puppet to help draw attention to our balloon twisting venues where the situation allows for it.

Steve Radley
DURING THE SHOW I WOULD TELL THE AUDIENCE THAT IF THEY CLAP LOUD ENOUGH THE DRAGON WILL BLOW SMOKE!

Robert and Kimberly Sanders
My wife will hatch a dragonlet via the special effects drawing board and then using one of our production devices she will switch the drawing for this puppet...

STEVE RADLEY
I WOULD USE THE DRAGON WITH A VENT FIGURE. THE VENT FIGURE WOULD SAY,'YOU'RE NOT A REAL DRAGON YOU'RE JUST A PUPPET'. THE DRAGON WOULD REPLY, 'YES I AM AND I CAN PROVE IT, I CAN BLOW REAL SMOKE'.

Sam Billingsley - I would use him as a teenage dragon and talk about the bad effects of smoking... he would sneeze and blow out smoke... I would continue to point out the draw backs...

Billy James
Dusty is hard of hearing due to the smoke alarms consatatnly going off in his house. (The worst time is when he's watching a comedy on TV....lots of smoke when he laughs). Could be not a bad fire safety thing come to think of it. He also has sore knees because he has to 'get down low and go, go ,go' 57 times each day.

Ed Casey
I can't move any faster because my feet are dragon.

Robert Sanders
In a show about "Persistence", have Dusty keep shaking his head and saying "I blew it", and you correct him saying "You didn't blow it, you made a mistake. Just keep trying". He persists..."I blew it!". So you finally ask him what it is he is trying to do?  "Blow smoke, I just can't do it". Have the kids count to 3 or something and finally he smokes! You turn and ask him what he thinks of himself now?   "I blew it!".

Steve Radley
WHEN THE DRAGON COMES OUT I WILL ASK HIM WHAT HE IS HERE FOR, AND HE WILL SAY,' I'M HERE TO WARM UP THE AUDIENCE'. I'LL SAY, HOW ARE YOU GONNA DO THAT? AND HE'LL SAY,' WATCH THIS! '

Robert Sanders
I will use this puppet for brownie points (I'm going to give it to my wife for use in her children's magic show as she has wanted one of these for a while now).

Phil Rodriguez
"Well....I blew and blew my fire and smoke until...well, I was Blue...! That's how I got my color....and it's Hot too...!"

Jan Rogers
I would have Dusty sing "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." Whenever he sings the phrase "smoke gets in your eyes," smoke would come out of his nose, and I would start coughing.

Harris Deutsch
She will sing at Lung Association/ Asthma FUNd Raisers and information fairs.....Cue the music....
Puff my lungs are dragon........

Marty Ann O'Roark
George is really a kindly soul. Te tries his best to do good. If he has a downfall it is clumsiness. His tail seems to get him in trouble from time to time. It isn't easy having a tail following you around and knocking things over. He would cut it off, but like most lizards. it would just grow back. Oh, the trials and tribulations of being a dragon!

DebbieLeigh
I work with children and youth at my church so he will help them with Biblical truths and memorizing Bible verses. Each time the kids get an answer or a Bible verse right he would blow smoke and tell the kids that each time they answer right that means that he is going to be closer and closer to breathing fire. And, he gets so excited that they will help him to breathe fire that he blows more and more smoke and he starts choking on his own smoke.

Debbie LaRose....
I am a clown who plans on using Dusty working with special needs children. He would reinforce the idea that it is okay to be different, after all how many dragons do you know?I would have him lead sing-a- longs, and tell stories. He would puff when he liked what was going on....the kids would love him!!!

Gene "Oz" Oswald
I would use him in our family outreach programs that deliver the gospel. He would have a burning desire to share scripture with the kids. Everytime he would have a scripture to share he would blow smoke.

>> Marty Ann O'Roark
>> George will be a hit at all of the Renaissance Faires. There are a lot of knights in not so shining armor giving him the evil eye, but our egotistical, over sized lizard doesn't seem a bit worried about them. He has no doubt that by the end of the day, all , including the "tin"men will love him.

Harris Deutsch
I would use him in the 2005 Summer Reading Program. In the Midwest the theme will be Dragons, Dreams and Daring Dreams.

Marty Ann O'Roark
His name will be George, in spite of the fact that Saint George was a dragon slayer. He will be from a long line of "good" dragons. His smoking nose will get especially "hot" when he is around pretty girls.(dragons or otherwise). I do a lot with Renaissance re-enactment groups. George will be quite adored there. I am working on a parody of the song "Puff, the Magic Dragon" to fit my character.

Debbie
Name him Smokie, and have him tell everyone that he's not really a dragon, but an alligator. When you ask him why he's blowing smoke if he's not a dragon? He'll say that with the pollution these days, he can't quit! Then ask him why he has the look of a dragon, and again he has an answer to make everyone (in his mind) to still think he's an alligator, by saying that he's in disguise so that everyone will quit polluting his waters! From:

Mark
I would use him in a trade show for companies selling hot sauces Having him take a taste, then having the smoke shoot out with him animated and yelling. 'Whoooo, that is some great stuff!" Above being part of a crowd generating bit, then turning the tip over to the salesmen

Steven Landis.
Idea... Have dusty be a pizza cook dressed with a chiefs hat and have him blow smoke and cook the pizza. You can give him an italian name for an italian pizza dragon. Or you can can use Axtells pizza magiic trick. You could also use a latex rubber pizza, or even use real dough and have him make a mess with it for loads of pizza party fun! Lugii the pizza dragon with smoking good pizza!!

My name is Debbie Leigh
Idea: I would name him "Burnie,l" give him a weak little voice and a lisp and have him say hith, hith, (instead of hiss, hiss), then give him a sickly cough, with just a very small amount of smoke coming out of his mouth. Then when the straight man or vent would ask him what was wrong, he would say that he didn't feel well because his momma and daddy were mad at him because he didn't want to breathe fire and then when he did, he would always burn his tongue.

Name: Jan Rogers
Idea: Dusty says "I know that smoking is bad for me, but I just can't quit." (Smoke comes out of his nose.)

David keith
with the idea that he might be good in an "anti-smoking" routine (say! Aren't you too young to be smoking? just after he puffs our some smoke...)

Dave DeVito
Create a running gag where each time he puffs smoke have him apologize and explain that some foods don't agree with him. Excuse me. Must be the jalapeno ice cream I ate.Pardon me. I must have put too much pepper on my peppers.Oops, musta put a bit too much hot sauce on my corn flakes this morning.

Whoo, those Buffalo wings musta been dipped in gunpowder. Urp, shoulda had some sushi with my wasabi.
